Dennis Itumbi Denies Claims of Ruto Aide Slapping DP Kindiki

Dennis Itumbi, Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy, has refuted claims of a rift between President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.

In a statement shared late Wednesday night, January 1, 2024, Itumbi dismissed allegations that Farouk Kibet, an aide to President Ruto, was involved in a confrontation that supposedly caused the fallout.ย ย

According to Itumbi, reports suggesting that Farouk slapped DP Kindiki were fabricated to mislead the public and detract from the government’s development agenda. He described these claims as baseless lies aimed at diverting attention from transformative projects spearheaded by the Kenya Kwanza administration.

He further assured Kenyans that such falsehoods would be exposed in real time to allow the government to stay focused on delivering its mandate.

Deputy President Kindiki also addressed the nation earlier, emphasizing that the new year offers an opportunity for all citizens to recommit to building a better and united Kenya.

“The start of the year is a chance for us to renew our focus on Project Kenya,” Kindiki noted in a statement. “Together, we can create a future free from fear and want.”

    Ruto’s Warning on Fake News

President Ruto, during Jamhuri Day celebrations on December 12, 2024, urged Kenyans to remain vigilant against disinformation designed to hinder development and destabilize the country.

He highlighted how digital platforms can amplify fake news, warning that such trends could threaten democracy and national progress.

“We must reject disinformation and focus on factual discourse,” Ruto stated. “Failure to do so risks compromising our freedom, democracy, and development.”

As the Kenya Kwanza government continues its agenda, leaders are calling for unity and a collective effort to combat misinformation and prioritize national growth.
