DCI Trap Fails as Wanted Suspect Escapes Home Raid
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) who raided his residence in Isibania, Migori County, set a trap for a wanted suspect, but he evaded it.
DCI stated on Saturday morning, September 9, that its counterparts from specialized police units conducted the early morning assault after unspecified surveillance of the suspect.
The suspect fled after learning about the dragnet, leaving detectives to search his residence in an attempt to apprehend and charge him.
“The wanted suspect – PMW – who remains on police radar for several violent robberies narrowly escaped the officers’ dragnet,” DCI confirmed.
DCI recovered a Czeska pistol with two magazines, 58 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a pointed dagger during a search of a suspect’s residence in Isibania, Migori, on September 9, 2023.
It did not, however, explain how the perpetrator escaped, whether he was tipped off, or whether the police operation was botched.

As a dangerous suspect on the lam, police dispatched detectives to track him down out of concern that he might cause additional damage.
“His manhunt is underway,” DCI stated, but declined to divulge whether it deployed a dog unit to track him or if they were surveilling his phone to trace his last movements.
The DCI did not specify whether or not the suspect was armed but implored members of the public to report his whereabouts by dialing 0800 722 203.
However, the operation also resulted in the arrest of two persons of interest who are assisting the detectives with their ongoing investigations.
During the covert operation, police also recovered a Czeska pistol with two magazines, 58 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and a pointed dagger.
Before the firearm and other exhibits are presented in court as evidence, they will be processed and documented.
Police will also endeavor to determine if the weapons were registered or if they have been used in previous robberies.
