    David Oginde appointed as EACC Head by Ruto

    The Public Service Commission had shortlisted Bishop Oginde as one of three candidates to succeed Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr. Eliud Wabukala.

    David Oginde, the former presiding bishop of the Citam Church, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) by President William Ruto.

    Saturday, the president announced in a statement that he had also submitted his name to the National Assembly for consideration.

    “On the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, His Excellency Hon. William Samoei Ruto has nominated Bishop (Dr.) David Adang Oginde for appointment as the Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission,” said Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.

    The Public Service Commission had shortlisted Bishop Oginde as one of three candidates to succeed Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr. Eliud Wabukala.

    Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Amani Komara were the other two.

    Wabukala had led the EACC for a complete six-year term.

    Ruto stated that Bishop Oginde is highly regarded domestically and internationally due to his sterling reputation for candor, honesty, and his tireless efforts to promote ethics and virtue in society.

    “If the nomination is approved by Parliament, his appointment as the Chairperson of EACC will provide Kenya with a proven champion of deepening a value-based culture in our nation, as well as an individual with a long and successful history of promoting ethics, integrity, and civic duty in a variety of fields.”

    Bishop Oginde is the former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) and former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian University (PAC).

    He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Leadership from the Regent University School of Business and Leadership in the United States and a Master of Arts in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.
