Specialists, including members of the Council of Economic Advisors, are poised to receive Ksh1.2 billion from the National Treasury in the upcoming fiscal year, should the proposals put forth by the Treasury be approved.

This information came to light in the ceilings outlined in the budget estimates for the Financial Year 2024/25, which were presented to Parliament on Thursday, March 7th.

The amount of Ksh1.2 billion constitutes a portion of the total Ksh5.4 billion allocated to the Office of the President. This funding is intended for Government Advisory Services, which play a crucial role in assisting the President in addressing matters of national significance, including national security and economic issues.

The Council of Economic Advisors, headed by David Ndii, who serves as the chief economic counsel to President William Ruto, is expected to gain advantages due to its crucial role in providing well-founded economic guidance to the President.

It’s important to highlight that the Ksh1.2 billion allocation is not limited to benefit only the members of the Council of Economic Advisors; there may be additional individuals who stand to gain from it.

Significantly, the government seeks the expertise of various specialists to counsel both the President and the State, aiming to empower the highest leadership in making informed decisions for the effective daily operation of the government.

Among the advisers in this group are those such as the Council of Economic Advisors led by David Ndii.

Additional team members consist of Felix Koskei, Josephat Nanok, Augustine Cheruiyot, Mohammed Hassan, Nancy Laibuni, Katoo Ole Metito, and Hussein Mohammed.

The fund will also be advantageous for other Kenyan individuals providing perspectives, evaluations, and suggestions to enhance policies and programs.

The President’s Office has also assigned funds to various programs within its purview.

They consist of Government Printing Services (amounting to Ksh1.2 billion), General Administration Planning and Support Services (totaling Ksh1.9 billion), and Leadership and Coordination of Government Services (equivalent to Ksh1 billion).

The office of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has been assigned an independent budget of Ksh4.5 billion.

Similarly, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadiโ€™s office will receive Ksh1.5 billion for Government Coordination and Supervision Services.
