CS Malonza Heckled At Funeral While Praising President Ruto For Dealing With Cost Of Living(Video)
Peninah Malonza, the Cabinet Secretary responsible for East African Community, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs), and Regional Development, faced challenges speaking to the gathered mourners in Chuluni, Kitui East, as she paid tribute during the funeral of the late esteemed journalist Musungu Kyumbe, who passed away due to skin cancer.
Speaking to an unsympathetic audience, Malonza asserted that President William Ruto is exerting maximum effort to tackle the rising expenses, a remark that appeared to be poorly received by the locals.
“The cost of living is very high, even the president understands that. That is why you see him going abroad to borrow money because we found empty coffers. But he is making sure that the cost of living will go down,” she said before the crowd started roaring.
As the mourners began to become noisy, Malonza tried to quicken her speech, but the crowd grew even more unsettled.

“My friends, kindly allow me to finish what I want to say. Let me finish so that you do not snatch this microphone from me,” said CS Malonza.
Previous Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu also conveyed dissatisfaction regarding the exorbitant cost of living, noting that it has compelled Kenyans to resort to walking without shoes.
Ngilu added that the majority of parents were not sure whether their children would go back to school next year following the high cost of living.
“I was a CS like you and please when you sit in that Cabinet, you are a woman, tell President Ruto people are suffering to the extent of walking barefoot,” Ngilu told Malonza.
Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu expressed his view that Kenya, despite sixty years of self-governance, does not bear the characteristics of a nation that has been independently governed for such a duration.
The leaders also said they would push for the distribution of free cream from the government for Kenyans living with albinism to help them prevent skin cancer.
