Cop Shot Dead In Battle With Nairobi Conductors Kasarani
A police officer affiliated with the Sunton Police Station in Nairobi was fatally shot at Hunters Stage, Kasarani, on Monday, after a confrontation with conductors.
Several perpetrators were apprehended, according to a police report, while the officers were conducting an operation involving Kamageras and conductors without uniforms.
At specific stages, kamageras, which are alternatively referred to as parking boys, are stationed to aid marketers in filling matatus.
However, the situation intensified when the local inhabitants, infuriated by the apprehensions, confronted the detectives while pleading for the vendors’ release.
The enraged crowd attacked the officers in response to the altercation; the officers fired several gunshots in retaliation.
However, one of the officers was struck in the forehead by a stray bullet that exited through the back of the skull.
Following his hasty transport to St. Francis Community Hospital, the detective ultimately passed away from his injuries.
“It was unclear who shot him, and investigations have been commenced to establish the same,” the notice read in part but did not clarify whether the police were shot in friendly fire or retaliating armed men.

Moreover, all drivers and conductors must hold a certificate of good conduct that has been issued by the appropriate governing body.
Police officers, in collaboration with officials from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), have been carrying out operations to ensure that motorists comply with traffic regulations in advance of the holiday season.
