Comedian Walter ‘Nyambane’ Mong’are Fired From Foreign Affairs

Walter Onchonga Mong’are, famously referred to as Nyambane, has been stripped of his authority to conduct official business for the State Department of Foreign Affairs, where he previously held the position of Director of Programmes, Advocacy, and Outreach.

Dr. Korir Singoei, the Principal Secretary of Foreign Affairs, conveyed this decision through an urgent internal memo circulated on Wednesday.

The memo, which was directed to all director generals, heads of missions, and departments within the Ministry of Diaspora and Foreign Affairs, highlighted the immediate cessation of Mong’are’s authorization to represent the department or the Principal Secretary himself.

In the memo, Dr. Singoei emphasized that Walter Onchonga Mong’are is prohibited from acting in any capacity on behalf of the State Department.

He instructed all department heads to refrain from engaging in any official dealings with Mong’are effective immediately.

Furthermore, Dr. Singoei directed that all official interactions or engagements with Mong’are should cease without delay.

The memo, which was also copied to Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi, underscored the gravity of the directive and the importance of compliance from all concerned parties within the ministry.

To summarize, Walter Onchonga Mong’are, also known as Nyambane, has been officially barred from representing the State Department of Foreign Affairs in any capacity, with immediate effect.

This decision was communicated by Dr. Korir Singoei, the Principal Secretary of Foreign Affairs, through an urgent internal memo, which instructed all department heads to refrain from engaging in any official interactions with Mong’are.

Compliance with this directive was deemed crucial, as highlighted in the memo addressed to relevant authorities within the ministry.
