A video has emerged showing a church elder addressing his congregation from the podium before he collapses and dies.
The incident happened in Ruiru on Sunday, May 19.
The elder was speaking about the church’s founding in June 2005 and elaborating on its mission and vision.
“We came to this place in the year 2005 on June 19. We are only one month less than 19 years,” he stated in the 1-minute 24-second video.
While discussing the church’s vision, the elder abruptly stopped speaking and collapsed.
In the background, a woman could be heard screaming as other leaders on the podium rushed to assist him.
Reports indicate that the elder suffered a heart attack while at the podium.
On May 24, his family released an obituary stating he was 67 years old at the time of his death. He was born in 1957.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a heart attack happens when blood flow to part of the heart muscle is abruptly blocked.
People experiencing a heart attack often feel chest pain, which can be described as discomfort, squeezing, or heaviness. In severe cases, it can be an intense, crushing pain.
Other symptoms include shortness of breath, trouble sleeping, heart palpitations, and dizziness.
The hospital notes that the risk of heart attacks for men rises after age 45, while for women, the risk increases after age 50.
Individuals with a family history of heart disease are at higher risk, and poor lifestyle choices also contribute significantly to the likelihood of a heart attack.
