CAS Position Ruled Unconstitutional: Azimio Leaders Applaud High Court Decision
The ruling by the High Court that declared the position of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS). To be unconstitutional has been received positively by the leaders of Azimio.
At a rally on Monday in Siaya. The leaders of the opposition stated that the decision was well-timed. Because it would reduce the wage bill and save Kenyans from having to pay for things that were not necessary.
Opiyo Wandayi, the leader of the minority party and a member of parliament for the Ugunja Constituency, stated that President Ruto’s appointment of 50 CAS at a time when the country was experiencing economic difficulties was inconsiderate. The leaders have made a solemn oath to demand accountability from the government to protect the Kenyan people from making irrational political choices.
“Vile mahakama imeaua kwamba hizo position ni unconstitutional… sisi tunaunga mahakama mkono tunasema hao watu waende nyumbani hao wote wafunge virago waende nyumbani,” said Wandayi.

Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga was quoted as saying, “Ruto, you have taken your people and made them assistant ministers. This includes all of those who were defeated in elections as well as those who were left behind during elections.” What the heck is wrong with you, Ruto?
Members of parliament who are Azimio’s allies have vowed to block a proposal by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission to raise the salaries of civil servants.
“Sisi kama Azimio tumekataa hiyo nyongeza ya mshara. Tunanawambia hiyo mshahara wanataka kutuongezea wachukuwe waende wapatie na. Wasaidie nayo watu maskini,” said Wandayi.
Raila Odinga, chief of the Azimio party, rallied Kenyans to participate in the saba saba protests on Friday. He also urged Kenyans to carry out their constitutionally mandated duties by the first chapter of the constitution.
“Tarehe saba mwezi wa saba ijumaa ijayo wakenya wote, Kenya mzima watajitokeza na kusema kwamba enough is enough punda amechoka, punda amechoka sasa watu wote watajitokeza,” said Odinga.
