Cartoonist Gideon Kibet Alias ‘Kibet Bull’ and Brother Rony Kiplangat Reported Missing
Cartoonist Gideon Kibet, also known as Kibet Bull, has been reported missing. His family revealed that his brother, Rony Kiplangat, has been missing since Saturday.
In an interview with Citizen Digital on Wednesday, the family shared that when Kiplangat disappeared, they thought he had gone to church.
“We waited until evening, and when we tried calling him, he wasn’t answering. We assumed he had gone to an SDA church service in Kikuyu. We asked his friend to check if he was at home, but he wasn’t there,” their sister, Mercy Cherotich, said.
Cherotich added that after being unable to reach Kiplangat, Kibet decided to travel from Njoro to Nairobi to investigate.

“Kibet had been invited to an event with Senator Okiya Omtata. He left home on Tuesday and dropped his things at his friend’s place in Kikuyu,” she explained.
After the event, Kibet was supposed to return to his friend’s home, but he never arrived in Kikuyu. “By 9 PM on Tuesday, Kibet was unreachable. We wanted him to confirm if our brother had returned home,” Cherotich said. The family has not been able to contact Kibet since.
The family suspects Kibet may have been avoiding the city due to fears of being targeted for criticizing President William Ruto and his government. They reported Kiplangat’s disappearance to the police, and an OB (Occurrence Book) was filed.
Kibet, a student at Egerton University in Nakuru, is known for his political cartoons, often featuring silhouettes of President Ruto and other government officials.
His disappearance comes amid a series of recent abductions involving social media users.
