Bungalow Blaze Mystery: Detectives Uncover Love Triangle Twist in Kitengela Man’s Fiery Death
Investigators in Kitengela, located in Kajiado County, are probing a complex love triangle in an unusual incident where a 48-year-old individual perished after igniting a contemporary bungalow in Chuna Estate near Maendeleo on Wednesday morning.
As per the police report, Vincent Opon Kisangi, also known as Raila, instructed the housekeeper to vacate the premises before igniting the fire that engulfed the house.
Ms. Ann Atieno, the household attendant, informed investigators that Kisangi and his spouse departed on Monday without disclosing their destination to her.
Around 3 am on Wednesday, March 27th, Kisangi came back home by himself, his wife not accompanying him, and headed straight to his bedroom.
Around 4 am, Kisangi purportedly roused his maid from sleep and instructed her to vacate the premises, expressing his desire not to cause her any harm.

“When I woke up, he had already stabbed himself in the chin, stomach, and chest and was bleeding profusely. I grabbed my belongings and left the compound,” Ms Atieno said in her testimony, adding that 10 minutes later she heard an explosion in the house.
The victim suffered such severe burns that their identity was impossible to ascertain, and the entire contemporary residence was destroyed by fire.
It’s suspected that he utilized two vacant gas cylinders discovered in the bedroom where the body was located to ignite the fire.
The corpse was transported to Shalom Community Hospital for a forensic examination.
Neighbors informed Gossipa2z.com that the couple had engaged in a domestic altercation for a while, and Kisangi had recently exhibited signs of distress.
“I used to work as a maid for the couple a few years ago. The man used to be full of life and happy. A boisterous laugh was his trademark whenever he was in the house. Lately, he has been a pale shadow of his former self. Sad,” said a former maid who lives in the neighborhood.
Supplying building materials
A few years back, Kisangi managed a quarry located in Nkuruka within the Kitengela Reserve. However, he later transitioned to transporting construction materials using his truck.
Nevertheless, investigators are pursuing leads related to a troubled romantic relationship and have requested the female resident to provide a formal statement.
Gossipa2z.com has confirmed that the woman, who was called upon, did not appear by Friday morning, even though she was seen in Kitengela on Thursday.
Investigators are also working to determine who owned the residence where the couple resided.
A detective familiar with the case has reported that there are renewed allegations suggesting that the residence was owned by the woman and she resided there with Kisangi, alongside another man being potentially involved.
Detectives now suspect that the woman’s husband has resided in America for a minimum of a decade, and they believe Kisangi was her partner in Kenya.
“We have received some information that the house that went up in flames belonged to the woman who had been living with the deceased for years. We are trying to unravel the mystery and are conducting a forensic examination of the couple’s phone conversation in the last few days,” the detective said in confidence.
The Sub-county Directorate of Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO), Simon Kirui, informed Gossipa2z.com that they were anticipating the woman’s statement to be recorded with the police.
“The woman’s statement will be very helpful in further investigations. She is yet to turn up,” Mr Kirui said on Friday, without divulging much information.
