Bomet Student Hacks Female Classmate With Panga in Brutal Attack Over Love Triangle Incident

Educational and extracurricular activities came to a halt at Kiptobit Secondary School in Bomet County following a violent incident involving a Form Four student.

The altercation occurred when an 18-year-old male student, who was a day scholar, attacked an 18-year-old female student with a sharpened panga. The incident reportedly stemmed from a suspected romantic dispute.

According to Bomet East Sub-county police chief Joseph Chesire, the male student arrived at the school armed with the panga and confronted the girl.

An argument quickly escalated into violence, resulting in the attacker inflicting severe injuries on the girl, including deep cuts to her head, neck, and face.

After the assault, the attacker abandoned the panga at the scene and fled, leaving the injured girl bleeding heavily.

Fellow students who witnessed the gruesome event immediately raised the alarm, prompting nearby villagers to come to the girl’s aid.

They quickly transported her to Longisa Hospital, where she is currently receiving medical care.

A parent who requested anonymity revealed that the school’s security guard was not present at the time, and all teaching staff were absent due to a strike.

Consequently, the school was left under the supervision of student leaders, which may have contributed to the lack of immediate intervention.

Police from Longisa Police Station responded to the incident, processing the crime scene and recovering the bloodstained panga.

Despite their efforts, they have yet to locate the suspect, and the search continues.
