Francis Mburu and the Ruaraka Land Controversy
In 2018, Mburu was at the center of the Ruaraka land dispute, involving a controversial KSh 1.5 billion transaction.
On April 30, 2018, he appeared before the Senateโs County Public Accounts and Investments Committee, where he expressed frustration over the case.
He later filed a lawsuit against the government, seeking KSh 36 billion in compensation for the disputed 39.5-acre Ruaraka land. In his petition, he claimed the landโs market value was KSh 25 billion and demanded an extra KSh 13.6 billion for unpaid rent and accrued interest.
Additionally, he stated that Ruaraka High School and Drive-In Primary School had not paid rent for 34 years, leading to arrears of KSh 5.9 billion.
