Azimio Warns Uganda and Tanzania: Hands Off Kenya Protests!
Martha Karua, the principal of Azimio la Umoja, warned Uganda and Tanzania on Tuesday, July 18 not to arm the Kenya Kwanza government in advance of the three-day mass protests.
The leader of the NARC-Kenya party claimed at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation that President William Ruto’s administration had partnered with a militia to harm the Azimio principals and was also pursuing foreign assistance.
The allegations were made hours after a standoff at the Busia border post, in which officials refused to clear a truck on the suspicion that it was transporting dangerous materials.
“Our crime is that we have challenged Ruto to reduce food prices, reconstitute the IEBC, audit the presidential elections held last year, and respect political parties,” Karua stated.
Additionally, she claimed that police officers on leave were recalled to combat the protestors. This, according to Azimio, was a form of intimidation intended to end the protests.
Additionally, the former running companion asserted that a militia was deployed to monitor Azimio executives at their places of employment.
“It is also taking the form of increased surveillance around the homes and offices of our leaders, which is being conducted by unmarked vehicles,” she said.

The leader of the Wiper party, Kalonzo Musyoka, reiterated Karua’s statements and added that the militia was ordered to carry out assassinations against the leaders, particularly after their security was withdrawn.
He described their operations, disclosing that they travel in groups of five non-uniformed individuals who are severely armed and well-equipped.
“They travel in Subarus, and the police station near Kenyatta Hospital is always crowded with these vehicles. “The sole objective of the Operation Support Unit (OSU) squad is to severely harm Azimio leaders,” he stated.
Former Defence Secretary Eugene Wamalwa faulted the government for withdrawing security during the mass protests when a special unit had been deployed.
“We do not comprehend the intelligence that led to the removal of our principals’ security. This has occurred at the same time that a Killer squad has been resurrected and integrated into the official police force, according to Wamalwa.
GossipA2Z was incapable of independently confirming these claims.
However, the opposition verified that the three-day protests would proceed as planned.
