Armed Fake Police Officers Raid Migori Estate, Shoot Woman

On Thursday, a middle-aged woman was shot and injured in Migori County by armed men posing as police officers who raided her home and demanded that her family report to the Migori County Police Station.

The woman recounted the incident to the media, stating that armed men raided their neighborhood in search of her.

When they arrived at her residence, they knocked and introduced themselves as police officers, stating that they required her presence at the police station due to a report she had submitted.

A week before this incident, the woman had submitted a report at the Migori police station after being severely injured in an attack by unidentified men.

According to her account, the armed individuals claimed to have apprehended the assailants and requested that she definitively identify them at the police station.

She complied with their request and opened the door, despite her children’s fear and reluctance.

“After listening to their request, I opened the door. At the time, my children were scared and did not want us to go but I convinced them,” she said

“We followed the men to a certain distance when they said that they were not police officers but were rather sent to kill me.”

The woman begged them to let her family go, but they pulled a pistol and shot her in the back, causing her to collapse and bleed profusely.

The incident terrified her children, who fled while yelling for assistance. The armed men attempted to fire at the children, but they escaped without injury.

Following the commotion, bystanders raced to the scene, where they discovered the woman lying on the ground and the armed individuals fleeing.

She was transported for medical treatment to the Migori County Referral Hospital.
