Aden Duale Expresses Willingness to Resign But on One Condition
Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale on Wednesday urged President William Ruto to take decisive action against underperforming Cabinet Secretaries.
In an interview with Citizen TV, Duale expressed his willingness to resign if the President deemed him among the ineffective ministers.
Duale emphasized the need for the President to assess all Cabinet Secretaries and decide who should be dismissed or retained.
โIf the President feels I have underperformed as Minister of Defence, I want him to act accordingly,โ Duale stated.
He added, โThe President should start with me and any others who have failed to meet expectations, for the sake of Kenyans. I am prepared for a new team to take over.โ

Duale stressed that it was an appropriate time for the President to make changes, particularly within the cabinet. He assured that he remains dedicated to serving Kenya, having never let anyone down in his various government roles.
“Anyone the President considers a liability should be removed from his administration, including myself, Aden Duale,” he affirmed.
Duale recounted his service as a Member of Parliament, Leader of the Majority, and for the past two years, as the Cabinet Minister for Defence.
His comments followed shortly after senators, led by Kakamega legislator Boni Khalwale, called for a complete overhaul of President Rutoโs cabinet, including the dissolution of the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office held by Musalia Mudavadi.
“Mr President, dissolve and reconstitute the Cabinet. Disband offices like the Prime Cabinet Secretary that are not constitutionally mandated in Kenya,” Khalwale urged.
