Exclusive: Charles Hinga Exposes Raila Odinga’s Alleged Support for Housing Fund During Uhuru Kenyatta’s Administration

Housing  PS Charles Hinga asserted that members of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party. Including Raila Odinga, supported the handshake government’s housing fund.

Hinga explained that the currently scrutinized finance bill was initially passed by Parliament in 2018.

He expressed astonishment that the same individuals who supported the housing fund during the handshake government now fiercely oppose it.

Charles Hinga, the principal secretary for housing in Nairobi. Has stated that members of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party supported the handshake government’s housing fund.

Hinga asserted that Raila Odinga was instrumental. In persuading the COTU Secretary General and Wilson Sossion to support the housing fund.

“The person that helped me convert Atwoli and Sossion to support the housing fund in the last regime was the former prime minister. I see everybody, my good friend Sifuna and all those guys that were in the same team in the last government because remember NASA had joined us so they became our friends,” Hinga claimed.

The ardent member of parliament explained that the current finance bill was passed by parliament in 2018. But was embroiled in a court battle that forced the government to withdraw it.

“The question is, they come to your breakfast show every morning why is someone not playing that sound byte? We went through the finance bill in 2018 and it was passed by parliament then it ended up in court and after a year and a half, we withdrew,” he said.

According to a video shared by Spice FM. He stated that he cannot believe that the same individuals who advocated for the same thing during the handshake government are now vehemently opposing it.

“Hold these friends of ours to account because I cannot believe that I have served a government dedicatedly at a cost and then you want to tell me that the course that I was pushing is now poison, I do not think we are fair,” he said.

He stated that Raila had pledged to reinstate the housing fund if elected president in the 2022 General Elections.
