Massive Liquor Bust: One Arrested, Hundreds of Thousands Worth of Illicit Alcohol Seized in Juja, Kiambu

A suspect has been detained and counterfeit alcohol worth an estimated Ksh. 300,000 has been seized by the police in Juja, Kiambu County.

In a sting operation, police raided a residential house located in Breeze Park Estate along Kenyatta road.

It is believed that the suspect was behind the sale of counterfeit alcoholic products in the Juja sub-county.

The police also found three drums of ethanol and 193 cartons of packed alcoholic products at the location.

The recovered items included empty cartons and fake Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) and Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stickers.

The police commander of Juja sub-county, Phyllis Muthoni, said that officers acted on a tip-off to search.

The fight against illicit liquor in the central region is gaining momentum as more counterfeit alcohol is being discovered and confiscated by the police.

The authorities are cracking down on illegal distilleries and businesses that sell counterfeit alcoholic products.

The sale of counterfeit alcohol poses a significant risk to public health and safety, as such products are often made with dangerous chemicals and are not subject to quality control standards.

The arrest and seizure of counterfeit alcohol is a positive step towards ensuring that only safe and regulated alcoholic products are sold to the public.

It is also a warning to those who engage in the sale of counterfeit alcohol that they will face legal consequences for their actions.

The police and other authorities will continue to work together to identify and shut down illegal distilleries and businesses that sell counterfeit alcoholic products.
