Alves’ Jail Letter to Estranged Wife Reveals ‘Rapist’ Accusations

A letter from DANI Alves to his estranged wife has been made public while he remains behind bars on charges of raping a woman in a nightclub.

The former Barcelona footballer wrote a touching letter to his ex-wife Joana Sanz, age 29, from the Brian 2 prison, where he is being held on sexual assault charges.

Alves has written a letter to his ex-wife after their separation.

The 39-year-old is rumored to have embarked on a hunger strike after the model who visited him in jail last month broke up with him over allegations that he assaulted a woman in a Barcelona nightclub at the end of last year.

According to sources, the former Brazil star is “completely devastated and very nervous” following the dissolution of his marriage and has written a letter to his ex-wife expressing “his regret.”

The Spanish television program Y ahora Sonsoles revealed the handwritten note to Joana who announced the couple’s breakup on Instagram last week.

It reads, “Dear Joana, nearly eight years of love, affection, respect, and mutual care have passed.

“Especially in the last few years, everything seemed easier and more pleasant with you by my side.

“You and my children, Victoria and Dani Filho, were the best thing that ever happened to me.

“Since the day we met, we have grown together, from the moment we began a life together.

“We were companions throughout those years. Enhancing and nourishing one another’s lives.

“Now, in these trying times, I regret your decision, and I wish that life would grant us a second chance at love.

“I understand that the unjust situation in which we are living is causing you pain and that you have been unable to withstand all the pressure.

“The allegations against me are alien to me and to the values that have guided my life: love, respect, and effort.”

“I will continue to fight, as I have always done, with the support of my allies, to prove my innocence to the entire world.

“With the unconditional love of my children, my parents, and those who continue to stand by my side, I will fight until the end to prove my innocence to the entire world.”

Previously, Alves’ accuser claimed he slapped and raped her in the bathroom of Barcelona’s Sutton nightclub in the early hours of December 31.

In addition, she is said to have witnessed the footballer’s intimate tattoo while he was partially undressed.

The woman is said to have immediately informed her friends of the incident, after which bouncers called the police.

Alves admitted to police that he had sexual contact with the woman, but insists that it was consensual and denies rape.

He claimed he had never met his accuser before his arrest.

He was arrested on January 20 and remains in custody after a judge ruled that he must be held.

After he was detained, Mexican club Pumas terminated his contract, and they are now reportedly seeking £4 million in damages for breach of contract.

Joanna, the ex-wife of Alves, expressed her grief following his arrest, which occurred days after her mother’s death.

She remarked at the time, “I have lost my only two pillars.”

A trial date has not been set for Alves.
