Dr. Simon Ogari Arama, former Bomachoge MP, has passed away at 68.

The two-term legislator died at his Karen, Nairobi residence on Tuesday, September 10, around 5 am. The cause of death remains undisclosed.

A close ally of opposition leader Raila Odinga, Ogari Arama was a key player in Kenyan politics.

He served under the ODM party in Parliament from 2008 to 2017, representing Bomachoge in the 10th and 11th parliaments.

His death has sparked widespread tributes from across Kenya’s political landscape.

Senator Richard Onyonka, a longtime friend and colleague, expressed sorrow, calling Ogari “polite, kind, and selfless.” He added, “Besides being a great leader, he was my personal friend for years. I will deeply miss him.”

Onyonka praised Ogari’s service, saying, “His dedication to Bomachoge and Bomachoge Chache will stand as a shining example for all leaders.”

Nominated Senator Esther Okenyuri also paid tribute, saying, “He was a remarkable leader who served with commitment and touched many hearts through his humility. His legacy will endure.”
