Kware: KDF Officer Shot, 2 Arrested after Strangling Police Constable Upon Arrest

Chaos erupted in Embakasi early Wednesday morning when a standard police patrol escalated into a violent clash, resulting in the arrest of three Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officers.

This incident has raised new alarms about the intensifying friction between Kenyaโ€™s military and police forces, an increasingly unstable situation.

Around 1:30 am, Kware Police Station officers were on a routine patrol in the Pipeline area when they apprehended two individuals.

During their transport to the station, an unidentified man suddenly jumped into the police vehicle and launched a violent attack on one of the officers, attempting to strangle her.

An OB report obtained by Gossipa2z.com reveals that the struggle intensified when the detained suspects joined the attacker. In a desperate move, the officer reached for her firearm, resulting in an accidental discharge.

The assailant was shot in the right thigh, while the officer suffered neck bruises and torn clothing.

The injured suspect was promptly taken to Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment. Upon arrival at the police station, the two detainees continued to act aggressively and initially refused to reveal their identities.

Only after a tense standoff did they disclose their identities as KDF officers, including presenting a military ID belonging to the wounded suspect.

This incident marks the latest in a series of confrontations between police and military personnel, raising concerns about the root causes of these clashes.

The situation in Embakasi mirrors a similar confrontation from April, where KDF personnel clashed with police officers at the Likoni Ferry crossing in Mombasa.

An amateur video of that altercation showed armed soldiers and police officers engaged in a heated exchange, further heightening public concern.

The Embakasi incident, now under investigation by detectives, has reignited discussions on the relationship between Kenyaโ€™s security forces.

Despite the KDF and National Police Service (NPS) being responsible for maintaining order and security, recent events indicate a growing divide that could threaten national stability.

As the investigation progresses, questions arise about the cause of the violent encounter and why KDF officers were involved in such a confrontation during a routine police operation.

The rising frequency of these incidents suggests a broader issue that demands immediate attention from top government and military leaders.

While tensions between the KDF and NPS are not new, recent visible hostilities have intensified scrutiny of their interactions.

From ferry crossings to roadblocks and police stations, these confrontations are becoming disturbingly frequent, undermining public trust in the ability of Kenyaโ€™s security forces to cooperate effectively.
