Raila Unveils His Academic Credentials in Pitch for AU Commission Chair

Raila Odinga has officially presented his academic and professional qualifications as he campaigns for the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson position.

In a calculated effort to secure support across Africa, Odinga showcased a manifesto rooted in his enduring commitment to Pan-Africanism, economic reform, and continental unity.

His bid, soon to be endorsed by President William Ruto, positions him as a strong contender for one of the continent’s most pivotal roles.

Odinga’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology from Magdeburg Technical School and Otto-von-Guericke University in Germany, underscoring his expertise in technical fields.

Moreover, his qualifications extend to certificates in Senior Management from the Kenya Institute of Management, Standardization, and Quality Control from the University of Denver in the U.S., Establishment of Natural Physical Standards from the National Bureau of Standards & Technology in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and Standards Specification Writing from the British Standards Institution (BSI Group).

Beyond academics, Odinga’s intellectual contributions are significant. He authored The Quest for Nationhood: Roadmap to Our Future (2017) and Raila Odinga: The Flame of Freedom (2013), both reflecting his vision for Kenya and Africa.

His publications highlight his intellectual depth and unwavering commitment to driving transformative change across the continent.
