LSK Chief Exposes DCI Abduction of Female Lawyer After Kevin Kang’ethe Escape
On Sunday, Eric Theuri, the president of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), disclosed that Beatrice Ng’ethe, a legal practitioner, had been kidnapped.
In an interview with Gossipa2z on Sunday, Theuri claimed that the lawyer was reportedly taken forcefully by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday morning, right from her residence in Kiambu County.
“We have learned that the DCI abducted one of our members by the name Beatrice Ng’ethe on Friday morning and her whereabouts remain unknown. We have visited several police stations to trace her in vain. The family has been tossed around different police stations,” he stated.
Theuri disclosed that the attorney underwent questioning following a request for legal counsel from Kevin Kang’ethe, a fugitive.
“The detectives and police officers say the fugitive called her seeking legal advice,” Theuri noted.
Theuri observed that the advocate’s family had visited several police stations in their search for their daughter, with no success. However, on Saturday, they received information that she had been located at Karen Police Station.
Nevertheless, upon their arrival, they were instructed to proceed to Gigiri Police Station, and they complied with this directive on Sunday morning.
Despite their attempts, they have been unsuccessful, and no one has provided them with accurate information regarding her location.

“The family had no idea where she was up to now. They are being told she is under interrogation, ” Theuri stated.
Following unsuccessful attempts to find the attorney, Theuri instructed a different lawyer to submit an immediate habeas corpus petition in court. This necessitates the individuals holding Ngethe to bring her before the court for an assessment of the legality of her detention.
He further directed members of the public to turn up at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road on Monday, February 12 to protest the attack on the profession adding, ” An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.”
Remarkably, Kang’ethe managed to flee the Muthaiga Police Station last Thursday. Allegedly, the individual charged with the murder of his girlfriend in the US last year was in conversation with his attorney just before making his escape from the station.
Following the breakout, the on-duty police officers were reassigned. Authorities continue their search for the escapee, who is slated for extradition to the United States.
