Head Teacher Shot Dead In Busia As Robbers Raid His Home

A primary school head teacher was shot dead by robbers who had raided his home in Buteba Village, Teso South in Busia County.

According to the widow, Prisca Amoit, the assailants, armed with guns and machetes, attacked Charles Emoto, the Ong’arima Primary School head teacher, during the night and managed to escape with an unknown amount of money that belonged to a local table banking group.

Nikawaambia sanduku ndio hiyo, wakatoa sanduku, wakabeba wakatoka,โ€ said the wife of the deceased.

Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the Teso South Sub-County Police Commander Amos Ambasa, urging the public to come forward with any vital information that could aid in identifying and apprehending the perpetrators.

โ€œNawaomba mtulie kwa sababu tangu jana usiku tulianzisha uchunguzi. Nikona mtaalamu wa uchunguzi na bwana DCI so me nawaomba jameni, ndio inaitwa table banking lakini hiyo kuaminiana sasa imeisha.Tusiweke pesa kwa nyumba,โ€ Ambasa stated.

KNUT Teso South Branch Secretary-General Geoffrey Ekasiba urged people to remain vigilant and avoid staying out late during this festive season.

โ€œMambo ya security ikifika jioni.. nataka kuhimiza, kila mmoja akue nyumbani na afunge mlango. Na watoto wetu, mtu anapobisha mango, tunataka kuhimiza watoto wetu tafadhali usikimbilie kufingua mango kabla hujajua ni nani,โ€ he said.
