Emma Pattison: Headteacher of Elite School Found Dead

Speaking about how her move to Epsom College last year had gone in a podcast, Mrs. Pattison said “there’s been a lot of change for us as a family but it’s been wonderful”.

Emma Pattison, 39, and her seven-year-old daughter Lettie were discovered dead at their home on the grounds of Epsom College.

Their deaths have shocked both the prestigious independent school and the wider Surrey community.

Emma Pattison, who was she?

Mrs. Pattison took over as head of Epsom College in September 2022, after six years as head of Croydon High School.

She was the school’s first female principal, and it is currently the Independent School of the Year, according to its website.

Mrs. Pattison stated about her appointment: “I am overjoyed and honored to have been named head of Epsom College.

“It’s a school I’ve long admired with an enviable reputation, and George and I can’t wait to meet the students, parents, and faculty and become a part of this wonderful community.

“We intend to make our home and school equally welcoming in the coming months and years.”

According to Companies House, her husband George was a chartered accountant and the director of a management consultancy firm called Tanglewood 2016.

Mrs. Pattison said in a podcast about how the move went: “My family has experienced a significant shift. So, we’ve relocated.

“We’ve purchased a dog. My husband has a new job, which wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did, and my daughter has started a new school. So there has been a lot of change for us as a family, but it’s been fantastic.”

Boarding students pay upwards of £42,000 per year, and the acting head has been identified as Paul Williams.

The college was named Independent School of the Year in October 2022, and its website lists its values as kindness, ambition, and integrity.
