On Friday, two armed individuals executed an audacious ambush in Marigat, Baringo County, targeting a vehicle carrying Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel. The ordeal resulted in one of the soldiers receiving injuries.

As per a police report submitted under OB 08/3/11/2023, the vehicle was en route to Arabal Primary School in the North Rift region to refurbish educational institutions that had been subjected to vandalism by bandits since June.

Two armed civilians obstructed the KDF officers’ vehicle as it approached the Embossos Road Junction, according to the police report.

The KDF officers retaliated with cautionary gunfire from the armed civilians, which ignited a violent exchange of gunfire.

One of the armed men was wounded in the lower midsection during the exchange, whereas his companion escaped into the jungle.
