Ruto Ally Reveals Possible Raila-Ruto Deal

Sunday, the Chief of Staff for President William Ruto, Felix Koskei, indicated that a handshake between President William Ruto and opposition leader Raila Odinga was imminent.

Koskei stated during a Thanksgiving Service at St. Luke ACK Church Ndara Koluoch in Asembo, Siaya County, that Ruto and Raila would likely reach an agreement.

One of Ruto’s closest allies, Koskei, remarked that the two had collaborated in the past and there was no reason to prevent them from doing so again.

He remarked that Nyanza and Rift Valley shared a millennia-old connection, and it was therefore inevitable that the two leaders would unite.

“I do not want to talk much because of my position, but you already understand what I am saying,” the Chief of Staff remarked.

As evidence that Ruto was eager to collaborate with Raila, he stated that President Kenyatta had instructed all government officials to develop every region of the country without discrimination.

“You have seen the President visiting the region and holding a cabinet meeting in Kisumu. It is a sign that the government is getting closer to the region,” he explained.

Ruto initiated a charm offensive in the Nyanza region last week during his meet-the-people excursion. Koskei is continuing this strategy.

“I was Raila’s ardent supporter and I and others came together and we supported him but unfortunately we never got the presidency,” Ruto while touring Homa Bay County remarked on his relationship with Raila.

“I have voted for Baba and I am calling on him to support me in 2027.”

Raila stated on Sunday that Ruto’s remarks would not cause him to abandon coalition members such as Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

“This man we have stood with him together since the KANU regime, we went ahead together to NDP, we went to NARC and even to ODM and we have stood with him twice,” he spoke of Kalonzo.

Raila stated that one of himself or Kalonzo would be on the ballot in 2027 to challenge Ruto.
