The embattled Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o asserts that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Azimio leader Raila Odinga supported and funded his campaigns.

Friday on TV47, Jalang’o disclosed that the ODM leader gave him 5 million shillings for campaigning.

“Even my campaigns could have been very hard, and I know the big role Baba played in me being a member of parliament, he supported me by not only endorsing me. But also financially, we are the few people that one day Baba told us to plan something, and he said he would come and grace it to support us in the elections, and he gave me personally Ksh 5 million,” Jalang’o revealed.

He added that securing the seat would have been difficult without Raila’s support.

During the interview, the freshman representative stated that conducting a campaign is not easy and that people require support, which he received from the party leader.

“It was fiery, it is not easy to beat an incumbent MP with the resources and everything,” he stated.

The member of parliament is one of the dissidents who were recently expelled from the ODM for disobeying the party due to their affair with President William Ruto.

ODM has maintained that the leaders, including Jalang’o, must resign and seek new mandates from a different political party.

However, Jalang’o asserts that he has not committed any wrongdoing and still enjoys the gathering.

“Baba knows very well, that Jalang’o is his son, baba loves me so much, but the truth is, when politics takes over even the love and betrayal, politics is a game of chance, a snowball,” he noted.

The Lang’ata representative has pledged to remain in office and continue working with Ruto despite his expulsion.

ODM has chastised rebel MPs for not adopting the party’s stance on issues such as the Finance Act, which breezed through the legislature.
