8 Months Baby Dies at Naivasha General Hospital After Nurses Disconnect Oxygen Machine
A scene of commotion unfolded at Naivasha General Hospital on Friday night when an 8-month-old infant passed away during medical care at the facility.
As per the parents of the infant, the demise occurred due to the doctor’s negligence, with claims suggesting that the doctor prematurely disconnected the baby from the oxygen machine.
The parents asserted that the doctor hurriedly switched responsibilities with his colleague because his shift had concluded.
After the occurrence, the youthful pair sought explanations from the medical professionals, considering their daughter had been in the hospital for just a few hours.
While searching for solutions, a disturbance occurred, leading security guards to step in and manage the situation.
Yet, the scenario deteriorated as additional patients and visitors, equally dissatisfied with the incident, gathered to offer support to the young couple. A few patients even informed the media about the situation.
A witness claimed that the medical personnel hurriedly moved the body to the mortuary in an attempt to evade media scrutiny.

“These young nurses are killing our children, even mine is in the ward in a bad condition,” one of the mothers claimed.
As the commotion grew wilder, the hospital administration was then forced to call the police to disperse the crowd. Notably, the police have also been accused of using excessive force and roughing up journalists.
Meanwhile, the hospital’s CEO Dr Bernard Warui confirmed that investigations into the incident had been launched.
It was revealed that everyone who was involved in handling the baby before and after the demise will be investigated.
