A 62-year-old man has been rescued from a shallow grave after reportedly being buried alive.
While investigating the murder of a 74-year-old woman, who was discovered dead by a relative at her home, the police made a breakthrough.
An 18-year-old suspect was arrested for the woman’s killing. During a search of his home, officers heard cries for help.
According to the Daily Mail, the officers began digging upon hearing the muffled cries coming from underground.
They uncovered the entrance to a makeshift grave where the young man had allegedly confined the older man.
Police footage released on Wednesday shows the weak man being pulled out of the shallow grave. He was conscious and had a neck wound.

After his rescue, the man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Once fully conscious, he recounted how he ended up buried.
The man said he had been drinking with the 18-year-old when a fight ensued.

The teenager was held in custody as police and prosecutors continued their investigation into the murder and attempted murder.
