This was confirmed by the second Diani-bound flight, which stated that it was compelled to turn back to Wilson Airport due to an emergency.

โ€œWe wish to report that this morning at 9:45 Local Time our flight number 053 with 39 passengers and 5 crew on board headed to Diani experienced a loud bang soon after take-off,โ€ the statement from the airline read in part.

Immediately after the incident, the crew made a professional call to immediately turn back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi.

The plane managed to land safely and inspection commenced on what could have caused the bang.
