Zelensky Condemns Alleged Beheading of POW by Russian ‘Beasts’.

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has condemned the actions of Russian forces following the release of a video on social media that allegedly depicts the decapitation of a Ukrainian prisoner of war.

In a video address posted on social media, Zelensky described the perpetrators as “beasts” and called for justice to be served in Ukraine.

He emphasized that the video of the execution of a Ukrainian captive must be seen by the world.

The video, which lasts around one minute and forty seconds, shows a masked man dressed in camouflage decapitating a man in a uniform while others can be heard in the background encouraging the attacker in Russian.

After the decapitation, a voice is heard saying that the head should be sent “to the commander.” The victim’s vest, which bears the Ukrainian trident, is also visible in the footage.

The authenticity of the video has not been independently verified by AFP, and it is not clear when the incident occurred.

Since Russia invaded Ukraine a year ago, Moscow and Kyiv have accused each other of killing POWs.

Several videos purportedly showing POW killings have been circulating on the internet.

Zelensky’s response to the video underscores the escalating tensions between Ukraine and Russia.

Since 2014, the conflict in eastern Ukraine has killed over 13,000 people and could escalate.

The international community has condemned the violence and called for a peaceful resolution to the crisis.

Zelensky’s statement makes it clear that Ukraine is committed to pursuing justice for its citizens.

The perpetrators were called “beasts,” highlighting the brutality of the act and Ukraine’s determination to punish them.

The video highlights the human cost of the conflict and the need for peace.
