In a notice issued on Monday, the council instructed all exam monitors not to share confidential instructions in advance with unauthorized parties, including candidates, until exam time.

“Please adhere to the KNEC rules and regulations strictly. Any non-compliance will attract the sanctions spelled out in the KNEC Act.”
According to the Act, center administrators found guilty face a maximum of twelve months in prison or a maximum fine of Ksh500,000, or both.
Individuals who gain access to examination materials and knowingly disclose the contents orally or in writing to any unauthorized party, whether a candidate or not, as well as those who willfully and maliciously damage examination materials, are subject to punishment.
