Why Gachagua isn’t fit to be Deputy President of Kenya – Raila
Azimio leader Raila Odinga has asked Deputy President Rigathi Gacgaua to treat all Kenyans equally.
Speaking with KTN on Wednesday, Raila said that Gachagua discriminates against Kenyans according to regions claiming that he serves Mount Kenya.
“Gachagua hastahili kuwa naibu wa rais wa Kenya kwa sababu anatoa maneno machafu ambayo inaweza kuleta mapigano kwa taifa. Yeye inasemakana ni naibu wa rais wa taifa ya Kenya lakini yeye anajifanya naibu wa rais wa taifa ya mlima Kenya,” he said.
(Gachagua is not fit to be the deputy president of Kenya because his words can divide the country. He is said to be the DP of Kenya but serves as the DP of Mount Kenya region).
Raila claimed that the DP has focused on the central region ignoring the others like they do not exist.

“Upande zile zingine za Kenya ni kigeni kwake anasema wao na sisi na tena anasema Kenya ni kampuni ya hisa ambapo kuna wengine wana hisa nyingi na wengine chache hio inaweza kugawanya nchi,” Raila said.
(Those other regions seem like strange places for him. He even said that the government is of shareholders and that there are those who will get more while others less).
He added that a DP should not divide Kenyans based on groups that belong to the government and not.
Raila said the government is mandated to serve all Kenyans equally since all Kenyans are taxed.
“Everyone is taxed equally, if you tax sugar or oil everyone pays. If you discriminate? What kind of a country is that? Gachagua should not be the DP because it is a huge shame,” he said.
