Water Cabinet Secretary Wahome Denies Involvement in Ksh120M Karen House Dispute with Murang’a MP

On Saturday, June 17, Water Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome distanced herself from a Ksh120 million Karen house dispute with a first-term Murang’a County representative.

Wahome insisted in a statement that she was not involved in the altercation in which an unidentified Cabinet Secretary was accused of forcibly occupying the aforementioned residence.

The minister of water pleaded with Kenyans on social media to stop associating her with the scandal.

“Leave me out of that story about a house in Karen involving a CS. I am not your match. Sorry Kenyan Twitter users. This opportunity has passed you by,” she insisted.

“Look for someone else. I am not your match. “I am not looking for a residence,” she repeated.

Wahome released the statement after some Kenyans dragged her name into the scandal while she was out of the country.

The home’s owner indicated that the unidentified CS who forcibly occupied the mansion was a female CS who fled the country.

The CS’s identity had not been made public at the time of publication.

Earlier on Wednesday, June 14, the Water Cabinet Secretary was on assignment at the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW) conference in Egypt.

“The AMCOW Conference brings together diverse water sector stakeholders, including investors and technocrats, from across Africa and beyond. After the meeting, Wahome wrote, “I represent the East African region as Vice President.”

Wahome also traveled to the People’s Republic of China, where she evaluated several dam projects implemented in this Asian nation.

After the MP’s wife spoke to a portion of the media on Friday, word of the domestic dispute quickly spread.

She asserted that the unnamed CS took advantage of their absence from the country to move into their home and staff it with a large number of police officers.

In addition, the landlady disclosed that they had rejected a Ksh90 million offer from an unidentified CS.

“The CS expressed interest in the residence. She even visited my residence and presented us with an offer of Ksh90 million. We informed her that the cost of the home is Ksh120 million.

“I then traveled to the United States for my daughter’s graduation. When I returned on Wednesday, June 14, I instructed my staff to clean my home. “I was stunned to find that the house was already occupied,” she explained.

The MP has threatened to sue the CS and charge her with trespassing.
