Waste of Time! Gachagua Rejects Azimio-Kenya Kwanza Talks, Exposes Ruto-Raila Meet

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed the ongoing bipartisan discussions between the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio coalitions, declaring that nothing will result from the dialogue that was anticipated to end the impasse between the government and the opposition.

Speaking on Tuesday at the funeral of Anne Musau, the mother of Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka (Kawaya), in Machakos, Gachagua stated that the talks were merely an attempt to deceive Kenyans, as Azimio leader Raila Odinga has reportedly met with President William Ruto and made his agenda clear.

According to the vice president, after a succession of anti-government protests rocked the country, Mr. Odinga met privately with President Ruto in Mombasa and agreed to call for a ceasefire on the condition that his personal demands are met.

Gachagua asserts that, during the meeting, Odinga made personal requests, including a greeting that would allow him to join President Ruto’s coalition government.

The Democratic Party added that Mr. Odinga also requested three ambassadorial positions, which were all denied.

According to Gachagua, Odinga was only offered a farewell gift if he retired from politics.

The Democratic Party claims that in the agenda for the meeting with Ruto, the opposition leader sidelined his co-principal in the Azimio coalition, Wiper Kalonzo Musyoka, only to make him the chief of the Azimio coalition delegation at the bipartisan talks.

Gachagua, who was speaking in Kalonzo’s political bastion of Ukambani, claims that Kalonzo is once again being used and that, like after the handshake of 2018, he will be left in the cold with nothing to benefit his political backyard.

“These discussions are being led by Kalonzo, so there is nothing left to do.” 2018 Raila aliendea handshake on Uhuru, Kalonzo hakuambia…The phrase is hakuenda nayeye. Projects have been approved by the Uhuru administration. Can an undertaking be canceled? Mkamtafuta mkaanguka nayeye.”

“Now ametafuta Rais juzi, vote for Kalonzo.” The agenda includes maji ya ukambani, mbolea, and ama bara bara. “How old are you, nini iko hapo ya wakamba?” Utilized Gachagua.

“Sasa Kalonzo, kiongozi wa heshima, mtu amesoma, mtu wa sheria, amepewa agenda kwenda kuzungumza mambo ya kuzunguka round,” he continued. Alitaka tumpatie serikali nusu mkate tukasema hakuna. Alitaka ati tukamwambia hakuna salutation. Ambassador tatu tukamwambia hakuna Akasema. This topic is open for discussion, ukienda nyumbani. The phrase “Aende akiendanga”

The vice president continued by stating that the government’s current priority is delivering on its agenda for Kenyans, not the ‘waste of time’ bipartisan discussions at Bomas.

“Nothing will result from these discussions. It is a time waster. As vice president of the Republic of Kenya, I inform you. “There will be nothing, so nyinyi wakamba mgojee mazungumzo mtakuja kututafuta sisi.”

“Ile mazungumzo Kalonzo ametumwa, hapo kitu ya kuzungumza. Yake, Raila tayari alisema mambo. Mombasa Alimalizia. This is not a mambo, wakenya. Nothing is present. Na ndio maana umeona sisi tumetuma Kimani Ichung’wa, Cheruiyot,… Mimi na kazini na Rais. Mazungumzo ikiendelea kesho tutakua Nakuru, kesho kutwa tutakua Baringo, siku ya Saturday tutakua Busia mambo ya maendeleo,” commented the DP.
