Wanjigi’s Farm Dragged Into Mystery of “Dumped and Dazed” MP Koimburi — Police Reveal Shocking Inconsistencies
Police have cleared businessman and politician Jimmy Wanjigi’s coffee farm in Kiambu County from any connection to the alleged dumping of Juja MP George Koimburi, according to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja.
IG Kanja said investigators visited Ruiru Coffee Farm, believed to be owned by Wanjigi, after reports suggested that MP Koimburi had been left there. However, officers found major inconsistencies between the farm and the scene shown in a viral video.
The video, which surfaced online on Monday, showed Koimburi lying on the ground looking disoriented. Police visited the farm soon after and compared the landscape with the video footage.
“The vegetation and road in the video do not match what we found on the farm,” the National Police Service (NPS) said in a statement on Tuesday, May 27. “Our officers from Juja responded quickly, inspected the area, and took detailed records, but the location did not match the video.”
Police also questioned the farm’s caretaker, who confirmed he had not seen any incident involving the MP on the property.

Initial reports claimed that Koimburi was discovered by a passerby. But new findings revealed that a woman, believed to be the first responder, drove him to hospital in his own vehicle.
Investigators raised further concerns after the hospital where Koimburi was first treated failed to give clear information about the kind of first aid he received. This has led to speculation that he may have been tortured.
IG Kanja assured the public that the matter is being handled with utmost professionalism. He said police are following all leads and carrying out forensic analysis to uncover the full truth behind the incident.
As of Tuesday, May 27, MP Koimburi was recovering at Karen Hospital. Meanwhile, opposition leaders, including Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, have claimed the MP was drugged with a chemical that left him unable to speak.
IG Kanja did not directly deny the allegations of a forced disappearance, but stressed that Koimburi was aware he was under investigation for a land fraud case. The Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) had already approved charges against him before the incident.
