Wamuchomba Cheers Raila’s Exit as Catalyst for Fresh Leadership
Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has lauded President William Ruto’s endorsement of Raila Odinga’s bid for the African Union Commission chairmanship, describing it as a pivotal moment for Kenya’s political landscape.
Wamuchomba praised Ruto’s decision, suggesting it represents a significant shift towards a new era of leadership in Kenya.
“This is the best thing that has happened to Kenya,” Wamuchomba said.
“President Ruto’s gesture provides Raila Odinga with a dignified retirement package, marking the end of an era for regional kingpins and paving the way for a new generation of leaders.”
Wamuchomba expressed satisfaction that the political stage is now open for younger, tribe-less leaders who are committed to the principles of the rule of law, accountability, and integrity.

“To Baba Raila Odinga, we wish you well as AU chairman candidate but please don’t come back to politics. It will be too bumpy for your age,” she said.
