(Video) Ruto Shows Off His Sporty Side, Does Pushups Before Scoring Penalty Against Ababu
President William Ruto was on Friday seen doing push-ups when he presided over the launch of the construction of Talanta Stadium.
Ruto also scored a penalty goal against Sport Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba who was the goalkeeper.
The Head of State showcased his sporty side when he was presiding over the launch of the stadium which is to be constructed in Nairobi at the Jamhuri grounds on Ngong Road.
He did a few press-ups before moving to score the penalty kick against the CS.
Namwamba was seen moving up and down around the goalpost as he prepared for Ruto’s kick.
Upon Ruto’s score, the crowd was heard cheering and clapping for him, referring to the President as ‘the captain of the Kenyan team’.
The 60,000-capacity stadium is one of the host venues earmarked for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.

Namwamba alongside Principal Secretary Peter Tum and other officials had toured the site on Tuesday.
Also present during the groundbreaking ceremony was Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale.
The construction of the project was approved by the Cabinet in October 2023 as part of Kenya’s commitment to hosting the 38th edition of the continental tournament.
The government had earlier contemplated building the stadium in Shanzu, Mombasa.
The Kenya Defence Forces has been tasked with overseeing the construction of the project.
KDF is also refurbishing Moi Kasarani Stadium and the development of Kipchoge Keino Stadium in Eldoret.
