Unavailability of Talanta Hela App After Ruto Launch – Ababu Explains
As a result of the dissolution of the Talanta Hela Committee in June of this year, the Talanta App launched by President William Ruto is unavailable on online platforms, according to the Ministry of Sports.
Pauline Sheghu, the director of communication for the Ministry, disclosed to GossipA2Z.com on Tuesday, August 22 that a portion of the Talanta Hela Committee was working on this application before its dissolution.
She clarified that the app, which was initiated by Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba, will be functional once the committee is reconstituted to complete its duties.
“The majority of those who worked on the application were committee members. Sheghu, an expert in corporate communication and marketing, explains that the app has been placed on hold while the customer service representative organizes the office.
“We cannot simply initiate something. Then it does not function. This places the President in a difficult position,” she added.
Nevertheless, Sheghu reported that the Talanta Hela program was active in the counties, with the Ministry of Sports committed to monitoring and cultivating talent throughout the nation.
“We are presently visiting rural areas to avoid wasting talent. Some individuals reside in the interior regions of the United States, and they have access to online platforms. Sheghu, a former journalist for Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, remarked that displaying their aptitude in person would be more beneficial.

The Talanta Hela app was released on June 9 to connect Kenyan athletes and other creatives with potential sponsors. The application also seeks to assist coaches in locating talent across the nation.
During the app’s introduction in June, Ruto stated that it would revolutionize the creative industry and highlight its benefits for youth training and mentoring.
Sheghu issued the statement and clarification hours after Gladys Shollei, Uasin Gishu woman representative and Deputy Speaker, expressed her displeasure over the app’s absence. Her concerns extended to the poor and unsatisfactory administration of the Sports docket, she argued.
As Shollei claimed, a spot check by GossipA2Z.com revealed that the platform was inaccessible on Google Play Store and Apple Store.
“Our team that traveled to Tunisia for the games wore counterfeit Adidas sneakers purchased on River Road in Nairobi.” The team that traveled to Tobago also wore counterfeit uniforms. When a country reaches the stage where its athletes are wearing counterfeit uniforms, there is a problem with the management of sports, she stated.
In addition to refuting the allegations, the Ministry of Sports clarified that it has an extant partnership with Nike, not Adidas as was alleged.
