Uhuru Shares 6 Lessons at High-Level Nigerian Military Event
On Monday, October 28, former President Uhuru Kenyatta shared six impactful insights in Nigeria while inaugurating a course at the National Defence College (NDC).
This marked a rare public appearance for the former President since leaving office, and it came amid a busy few days for him.
Uhuru attended the event in Abuja, Nigeria, as an esteemed guest, delivering an influential speech where he shared his experiences as a former commander-in-chief with young leaders at Nigeria’s top military training institution.
In his speech, Uhuru emphasized the importance of strong institutions, noting that they are essential for reinforcing security and fostering growth across Africa.
He also highlighted Africa’s potential, with a substantial part of its population under 30, stressing the need to invest in human capital by creating sustainable social and economic opportunities for youth.
Uhuru remarked that Africa’s demographic dividend is ready to be leveraged, and the continent’s young people are eager to see results from these investments.
Touching on challenges in Kenya, Uhuru subtly pointed out the importance of a government that remains accountable and transparent to its citizens.
In line with this, he advocated for ethical public finance management and fair tax practices to build effective markets.
