President-elect Tshisekedi secured over 70 percent of the total votes cast in the general elections.

The ex-president occupied a position a short distance away from Ruto at the inauguration ceremony.

They were last seated beside one another at the Kasarani inauguration of President Ruto on September 13, 2022.
There has been a strained relationship between the two individuals ever since Uhuru decided to support Raila Odinga as the presidential candidate for Azimio Chief Principal, deviating from his initial commitment to endorse Ruto for the presidency.
The interaction between Uhuru and Ruto through a handshake has prompted responses from the people of Kenya.
