UDA MP Slams Kimani Ichung’wah for Sycophantic Rants in Front of Ruto- “You have a Disease!”
Manyatta MP Gitonga Mukunji has taken a swipe at Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah, accusing him of aggressively defending President William Ruto and his administration against critics.
Mukunji ridiculed Ichung’wah’s behavior, suggesting that the Kikuyu legislator becomes excessively enthusiastic around the president, prompting his fiery responses to dissenters.
According to Mukunji, Ichung’wah’s outbursts stem from a desire to gain favor with the president. He likened Ichung’wah’s actions to an uncontrollable urge to impress his boss.
“The majority leader suffers from a disease. The disease is caused by extreme pressure and anxiety to impress your senior so that he/she can see and love you. The disease cannot be treated. Visible symptoms are excitement in front of your boss, leading to one saying anything from his head, believable or not, to make the boss feel good,” noted Mukunji.

Ichung’wah’s intolerance was evident on January 3, when he clashed with Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya. The governor had criticized the government for its alleged role in recent abductions and extrajudicial killings.
Natembeya accused state operatives of targeting young Kenyans for perceived offenses, urging President Ruto to take action against such acts.
In response, Ichung’wah accused Natembeya of hypocrisy, claiming that as Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, Natembeya sanctioned similar atrocities. He alleged that civilians were abducted, and killed, and their bodies dumped in Kerio Valley and River Yala under Natembeya’s watch.
Ichung’wah further urged the governor to cooperate with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) if he had any information about the perpetrators, accusing him of incitement and double standards.
