UDA MP Mohammed Ali Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery After EAC Games Injury
Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali is on the road to recovery after a successful knee surgery. The MP sustained the injury during the East African Community (EAC) Inter-Parliamentary Games held in Mombasa.
In a statement on Friday, December 27, Ali announced the surgery’s success and revealed he would take a three-month break from political activities to focus on healing.
“After injuring my knee during the EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games in Mombasa, I’m glad to report my surgery went well. However, my doctor has advised limited mobility for at least three months to ensure full recovery,” he shared on X.
He assured Nyali residents that his office would continue operating as usual during his absence and requested their prayers as he recuperates. “I look forward to coming back stronger,” he added.

The 14th EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games took place in Mombasa from December 6 to 18, 2024, bringing together over 1,000 delegates from East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and parliaments of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Burundi.
The games, which aim to foster regional unity and integration, were launched with a colorful ceremony led by Kenyan President William Ruto. The event featured a vibrant procession through Mombasa, ending at Mama Ngina Waterfront.
Participants competed in various sports, including football, netball, athletics, tug-of-war, volleyball, basketball, golf, and darts, held at venues such as Shanzu Training College, Aga Khan Academy, and Nyali Golf Club.
