Trump Offers Job to Dusit D2 Hero Christian Craighead
Christian Craighead, a former SAS soldier renowned for rescuing dozens of hostages during the 2019 DusitD2 Hotel terror attack, has been appointed to U.S. President-elect Donald Trumpโs elite security team.ย ย
Craighead, 48, will play a key role in ensuring Trumpโs safety as he prepares for his January 20, 2025, inauguration in Washington, D.C. Trump reportedly values Craigheadโs keen observation skills, which he believes could be life-saving.
The decision follows a 2024 assassination attempt on Trump amid heightened political tensions in the U.S. Authorities have since arrested a 58-year-old suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, in connection with the incident.
A close family source revealed that Trump personally contacted Craighead after the DusitD2 rescue operation, commending his bravery. Their relationship grew from there, with Trump later inviting Craighead to the White House to express his gratitude.

At the time of the 2019 attack, Craighead was stationed in Nairobi to train Kenyan forces in counter-terrorism but was off-duty when he took charge of the rescue operation. Fellow SAS veteran Chris Ryan credited him with planning and executing the mission, which saved over 20 lives.
Craigheadโs heroism earned him the UKโs second-highest military honor, but it also strained his ties with the SAS, which values discretion. His actions, including viral videos of the rescue, drew global attention, leading to friction with the secretive unit.
In 2024, Craighead faced legal challenges when a British High Court blocked his attempt to publish a book about the DusitD2 attack. The court cited national security concerns, referencing rules against disclosing sensitive information.
Now, Craigheadโs expertise is set to bolster Trumpโs security team during a crucial period.
