Treasury Chief John Mbadi Sets the Record Straight on Health Concerns
Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi has confirmed that he has shed some pounds following health concerns raised by the public.
During his appearance before the Senate on October 2, Mbadi clarified that his weight loss was not due to stress or job-related pressure.
The CS emphasized the importance of fitness, stating that he has intentionally been losing weight and plans to continue doing so.
“There have been discussions about my weight loss. I advise those aging to prioritize fitness for better health. I’ve consciously been shedding pounds, and I will persist with it. It has nothing to do with stress or pressure,” Mbadi stated.
He acknowledged the pressures associated with the National Treasury but assured that he was ready to fulfill his responsibilities.

“Yes, there is pressure at the Treasury, but I am prepared for it and will continue to perform my duties,” Mbadi explained.
In response to various inquiries from senators regarding his responsibilities, the Treasury CS addressed their concerns.
Senator Ledama Olekina from Narok humorously suggested he would offer a goat to help Mbadi regain some weight.
“I’ve noticed that the Treasury CS has lost significant weight. I’m offering him a goat to help him put on a little,” Ledama quipped.
Additionally, Mbadi committed to enhancing transparency within his ministry concerning tax proposals to prevent protests similar to those seen regarding the Finance Bill 2024.
He also mentioned that the Treasury is developing a unified payroll system to identify and eliminate ghost workers from government agencies.
