Rebecca Miano, the Trade Cabinet Secretary, witnessed her son’s marriage on April 6 in a grand traditional ceremony. The event was graced by the CS herself, along with several members of her cabinet and other prominent political figures.
The wedding took place in Nairobi, where Peter Miano and Wambui Kibe vowed to share their lives indefinitely.
The Commerce Secretary expressed gratitude to loved ones for celebrating with her family on this happy occasion. She also extended appreciation to her coworkers for making the effort to be present at the wedding.
“Celebrated love with family and friends of Peter Miano and Wambui Kibe, a beautiful couple who complement each other in admirable ways. I wish the couple a lifetime of joy and God’s blessings,” remarked Labour CS Florence Bore.
Environment CS Soipan Tuya, present at the event, extended her congratulations to the newlyweds, expressing her best wishes for a lifetime of joy and marital bliss.
The wedding was graced by the presence of Moses Kuria, who serves as the Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, alongside Aisha Jumwa, the Cabinet Secretary for Gender. Also in attendance were Zachary Njeru, the Cabinet Secretary for Water, and Susan Nakhumicha, the Cabinet Secretary for Health.

Other individuals included Mercy Wanjau, who served as the Secretary to the Cabinet, Abubakar Hassan, the Principal Secretary for Investment Promotion, and Juma Mukwana, who held the position of Principal Secretary for Industrialisation, among others.
Friends and family were adorned in various traditional garments, spanning from Kikuyu traditional attire to vibrant vitenges in a spectrum of colors, perfectly harmonizing with the overarching theme.
The bride and groom wore brown outfits reminiscent of the traditional Kikuyu attire as they sat in the center of the venue.
At the same time, the tables were adorned with vibrant red roses as focal points, complementing rather than overshadowing the flower-adorned chandelier suspended from the ceiling.
All the CSs were allowed to address the attendees during the wedding ceremony and capture photographs alongside Peter and Wambui.
On one occasion, the couple received a customary Kiondo bag filled with gifts presented to them by CS Bore.
Peter, who is one of Miano’s offspring, stands out. Although the CS is married and resides with her spouse, she has deliberately kept her personal life out of public view.
