Stupidity Has No Cure- David Ndii Responds to Critics Body Shaming Him in Viral Photo
David Ndii, the economic advisor to President William Ruto, has addressed criticisms regarding his appearance, specifically his weight, in response to a widely circulated photo on social media on February 22nd.
The widely circulated picture depicted Ndii, President William Ruto, and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua together during a three-day executive retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County.
Shortly after, critics began using social media to mock Ndii for being overweight, remarks that the advisor didn’t appreciate.
In a response issued on Friday, February 23rd, Ndii referred to the critics as ‘fools’ who consistently waste time discussing matters that hold no significance for the broader public.
Additionally, he expressed apprehensions regarding the potential social media traction of the subject, casting doubt on the intelligence levels of Twitter users.
“To be overweight is a remediable personal challenge of little or no consequence to the general public. To be empty-headed is an incurable societal burden,” Ndii stated.
“Ũrimũ ndũrĩ ndawa (stupidity has no cure). To have so many imbeciles with nothing better to talk on a public platform is a national tragedy.”

Ndii joined government officials, including Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, at the Naivasha retreat, aimed at assessing the progress of the Kenya Kwanza initiative and showcasing notable accomplishments since the administration’s inception.
Later, images were circulated from the retreat depicting the politicians dressed casually, which marked a noticeable shift from their usual formal attire.
Ndii’s picture sparked discussion when critics compared his current appearance to that in previous photos.
Alternatively, some individuals stepped forward to support him and urged Kenyans to acknowledge and honor his chosen way of life.
“Leave David Ndii alone. It is the lamb chops at State House and a good appetite. My tummy was bigger when I was a resident there! And we had a bar,” political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi countered.
