Friday, April 28, Kenyan Kwanza and Azimio leaders praised President William Ruto’s decision to appoint General Francis Omondi Ogolla as Chief of Defense Forces, demonstrating a rare level of cooperation.

In separate statements, leaders from both sides of the rift heaped praise on the Head of State, adding that his decision to appoint Ogolla was a sign that tribalism was being overcome.

    Azimio Appraisals

Representative of Nairobi Esther Passaris was among the first ODM leaders to congratulate General Ogolla, stating that he merited the promotion and appointment by the Head of State.

“Congratulations, Lieutenant General Francis Omondi Ogolla, on your well-earned promotion to General and appointment as Chief of Defense Forces by President William Ruto. “It is an honor to have you lead our armed forces,” Passaris said.

Robert Alai, a blogger, and member of the Kileleshwa County Assembly was among those who congratulated General Ogolla on his appointment.

Member of Parliament (MP) of Saboti Caleb Amisi, on the other hand, praised Retired General Daudi Tonje for advocating the separation of the military from national politics, which led to the appointment of General Ogolla.

“Thanks to Daudi Tonje’s regulations. Separation of the military from national politics and the order of military succession is of the utmost importance. It has led to the appointment of my good friend and the most qualified Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla. As the new Chief of Defence Forces of Kenya, as stated by Amisi.

    Kenya Kwanza Leaders Appraisals

Kenya Kwanza leaders were led in congratulating Ogolla by Ministry of Defense Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale. Who noted that the move was intended to strengthen military operations.

A portion of Duale’s statement read as follows: “The appointment of Ogolla was part of a government effort to strengthen military operations. And build an efficient and effective defense unit.”

Senator Samson Cherargey of Nandi County, on the other hand, noted that the new appointee was a move by the President to foster national unity.

“The President of Kenya, H.E. Dr. William Ruto, has promoted Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla to the position of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
