State House Refutes Ruto’s Job Offer Claims as Lawyer Morara Kebaso Stands Firm on Allegations

State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed has refuted allegations that President William Ruto personally called and offered a government job to lawyer Morara Kebaso, who has gained recent fame for his efforts in fact-checking government projects across the country.

Kebaso claimed on Citizen TV’s JKLive Show that after his critical analysis of government projects gained traction on social media, the President’s team approached him, followed by a direct call from President Ruto offering him a state position.

During his conversation with host Jeff Koinange, Kebaso revealed that initial contact came from individuals close to the President before Ruto himself extended the job offer.

Kebaso shared that while he spoke respectfully with the President, he declined the offer, citing concerns about the overcrowded nature of the government and the potential for corruption. He emphasized his preference for staying at his furniture shop rather than entering a system he believes demands corruption.

However, Mohamed, who called into the show live, dismissed Kebaso’s claims as pure fabrication, stating that no such call from the President ever occurred.

While acknowledging Kebaso’s efforts to hold the government accountable, Mohamed urged him to do so with honesty, noting that many of the stalled projects Kebaso pointed out were initiated under the previous administration. Nevertheless, he affirmed that President Ruto is committed to completing these projects.

Hussein Mohamed, State House Spokesperson: I am shocked at what Morara is saying. I wonder why he would lie on national TV that the President called him. For the record, such a call never happened, itโ€™s a statement of his imagination #JKLive @KoinangeJeff pic.twitter.com/1cbO908pLh

Expressing disbelief at Kebaso’s statements, Mohamed said it was shocking that such a claim was made on national television, reiterating that no such conversation took place.

Mohamed further emphasized the importance of truth in accountability, stating that while holding the government accountable is vital in a democracy, it must be done truthfully.

In his response, Kebaso stood by his claim, suggesting that Mohamed may not be as privy to the President’s private conversations as he believes. He also downplayed the matter, urging Mohamed to address more significant issues, particularly those related to his investigations into alleged misuse of public funds.

Kebaso reiterated the accuracy of his previous statements, challenging Mohamed to refute any of the projects he has investigated across 19 counties. He questioned Mohamed’s authority to speak on whom the President contacts, insisting that his communication was with the President, not Mohamed.
